Two minutes to silence
« on: July 27, 2013, 07:39:08 pm »
I did this one a couple of months ago and have hesitated to share it.  Just my Larrivee and then a simple lead over it with an electric.

Just sort of an odd tune and definitely different than what I normally do.  Kind of melancholy feel to it.  I  still haven't decided if I like it or not?

What the?!?!?!?  This sucks!  No explosions or anything! :l2:

Seriously, I LIKE it!  I do have a few very humble suggestions.  On the backing track, I would add a compressor or some sort of dynamics processor to balance out the level and then bring it up slightly in the mix.  It started out perfect - anchoring the lead, and then it seemed to get lost.  Do you play keys?  A little Hammond or synth strings in the background would be cool - add some percussion and you will have that kind of Santana Moonflower feel!  Cool stuff, keep on posting!

I consider this a HUGE success to post something and not one Tele insult!  Cool!

To be honest, after I recorded it ............. I threw all the Mixcraft tracks away because I thought it was so lame.  :icon_biggrin:

Yeah, the mix is all wrong on it. And I agree the acoustic backing should have been more leveled for sure. More than anything else, it needed more cowbell.
