Silver Jubilee Lite

Hi guys, The SJ was put through its paces last nite and with the new cab was sounding SUPPERB.

The setting we found with the CLEAN channel to be the winning combination with the EQ and REVERB at pretty much half way, master 8 and clean gain 7, rhythm switch on.
The cabs were not mic'd and this was more than enough volume for the outdoor venue.
We found for the "southern rock" sound and with the P90s is a great match.
The lead clipping circuit was just way too much METAL for what we want.

Where I am going with this is too delete the LEAD clipping circuit and if I was to do that as shown in the schem is it as simple just removing that part of the circuit.
I am not understanding the use of the two 220k resistors circled to how this effects the clean channel, other works are they needed???
Thanks
