Great player that I never heard of?

Larry Carlton Jam

Don't know who this person is BUT I've never heard of him. Pretty smokin' player in my opinion.  Every YouTube I've watched of his has been this good.

He sure makes it look easy.  And he is pretty creative and not just recycling the same exact riff over and over.

With respect, Tubenit

Since I know little to nothing about Steve Vai .........   :l2:

This kind of sounds like a mix of Steve Vai, Eric Johnson and Denny Jiosa to me:

Pretty incredible stuff there.....
They must just slide food under the door for him.....

There's so much hidden talent like him out there that I have to force myself to not watch it,,,,so I can retain some confidence   :l2:

Are you supposed to use all four fingers?  So THAT's what I've been missing!  Whenever I got a compliment on my playing, I've always said that if you want to see real talent, go to your local music store on a saturday morning and watch the 9 yr old kid shread!  This kid is obviously a very good technical player.  However, my favorite parts were the few seconds of playing he did when he closed his eyes, made a face, and looked away from the neck.  THAT is what separates the Larry Carltons from the rest of us mere mortals!

Yeah, like that is totally cheating!!!! Sort of like using a step ladder to dunk a basketball when shooting hoops.

I am sure that if I used 4 fingers and had a strat that I could play just like that.

Well a Strat would certainly go a LONG way, considering what you are playing now......
