motorboating tremolo
« on: January 31, 2014, 02:51:30 pm »
I succeeded to get the tremolo ticking in my last project.
It's ticking even if the volume is off.

Do you have any tips how to eliminate that?

Single ended with an EL84 and a 6V6? Clever!
It's all about lead dress in your tremolo circuit.Moving wires around and also shortening wires to grids to start with.

I tried many changes, I even changed the structure of the
tremolo circuit without result. Then I moved the tremolo to the cathode
of the first amplification stage which helped. I would say it works much better
there. Also a noise problem when turning tremolo depth disappeared
and no ticking at all.

A 0.022 cap connected to the neon lamp may stop it

Where do you see a neon lamp???
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
