vox ac15c1 question
« on: March 02, 2014, 08:33:48 am »
hey fellers,
i'm no amp tech, but i agreed to help a work friend with his dead ac15c1 (bad PT). so, unfortunately, he ordered a replacement (on his own), and i agreed to swap it out for him. trouble is, the new one doesn't have that low voltage tap for the rev/trem stuff - "+vcc" in the third schematic down on this page:
https://app.box.com/s/n4rogzmzmt2i7dsubfno

here's the one he ordered:
http://www.classictone.net/40-18079.pdf

this is a cheesy solution, but could i get a separate little tranny for that +vcc and use the classictone tranny for the rest? what IS that voltage anyway? anyone know?

like i said, a cheesy idea to be sure, but my friend can't afford to send it back and get (the more expen$ive) right one. *sigh*

thanks,
scott

You can do that. +vcc is 'probably' in the neighborhood of 12-15v. But those schematics don't list any voltages or even IC types, so can't say for sure based on the info at hand.

You know what the best solution is...
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
