bias pot
« on: March 12, 2014, 06:57:04 pm »
what is the technical name for these type of pots?  Every search I try I get only 10K fender pots and I need a 25K.  Also, I think $9.99 is way too much to pay.

the only ones I see like that are PC mount or not the traditional pots.  Any suggestions on how to search for them?

or "trimmer pot".

A good choice is to use the following type of pots.
They have normally better quality than cheap trim pots.

This is my preference for bias pots. I have these in all my fixed bias builds.

Here's a dual bias system in my Sunn amp...

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

I like those too. Very expensive to buy new, free in old military-commercial junk. I won an auction for about 40 of them on ebay for $8 once. Allen-Bradleys, new.

The locking pots look perfect.  I found some at Weber Speakers for $1.80 too... thanks all...
