 Copying JC

 Hello JC

I think you did build several circuits with the Dr. Z TS.

I finished lately my (once) 5E3, now with a Spitfire like input, followed by the Dr.Z TS, Paul C modded PI and the 5e3 output. The amp sounds great, the TS works well but I kind of thought to get more out of it.

If I turn the bass and treble pot equally up ore down it gives just a volume change but now tonal change like in other TS's. Do you observe that also also on your builds?

Yes. Similiar. As you turn down both it reduces the volume greatly. It works better to just cut one or the other. They both seem pretty out of the way when they areat 10. I like it but I am not sure I would call it perfect either. I guess this is because they overlap a lot in the midrange frequencies. (I wish this was on Duncan Tone Stack calculator). I think you could change the values to leave more midrange and just cut the high treble and low bass frequencies. The treble is a simple low pass filter so changing the capacitor (I have used a couple of values here) will change that up. I have not tried changing the bass control.

 Thank JC

I'll give it a try, maybe I start out increasing the 250P to 500P ore 750P to let more mids trough to the treble pot and decrees the value of the cap that goes from the treble pot to ground.
