6CM6 tube in pushpull??
« on: March 05, 2015, 12:31:59 am »
Anyone know of a schematic that uses 6CM6 tubes in pushpull?
I think I have it figured out but it would ease my mind a lot to see them in situ

Thanks

I think you can use the same arrangement as in 6v6 - 6aq5 amp

Here a tread about an amp where 6cm6 tubes where used

K,  thanks for sharing that!  Very interesting tube and it sounds pretty good with decent bass to it, IMO.

I think a HoSo56 with that tube could make a very nice amp!

With respect, Tubenit

Yes thanks very much!
I was looking at that previously(I was researching before I posted)
But I didn't scroll down far enough as there is some pinout information which confirms what I had figured from comparing these:
http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/sheets/137/6/6CM6.pdf
http://www.radiostation.ru/tubes/6V6GT-GE.pdf

If you notice on the Sylvania Engineering Data service for 6CM6 and 12CM6 it says:

" Except for bulb size and or heater characteristics (12CM6) they are IDENTICAL to the 6V6GT "

That's why I'm trying them on a deluxe AB763 build

i've been buying them at ham fests, ebay, and from distributors on octopart for a few years. i have a fair size collection now. def. a sleeper tube.

another sleeper tube is the 6EM5.

i had planned to build a compact fender stand alone reverb with subminiature tubes, but opted for 9 pin instead. 6CM6 is the tube i chose to drive the tank. haven't got around to building it.
watch out with B+ over 400V. they may arc over. i'd run them up to 400V with high quality sockets, but i'd be cautious with 420V+ such as in the Deluxe Reverb, etc.

happy rosin smokin',
