3D printed wire twister

Saw this little doodad online....looks pretty handy

I will have to make mine the old fashion way though...no 3D printer at my house.

I just chuck them in an el drill.  The chuck already does the function of this doo-dad.

Clever design, but JJ is right. Just stick the 2 wires in your chuck and go.
Tapping into the inner tube.

I have hand-twisted manila fiber into rope. I see what that part is doing to "conserve twist".

I don't see how it needs a 3D printer. Dowel, short hunk of broomstick, drill.

I do not think the "conserve twist" feature is at all necessary for heater lead twisting. Yes there is a twist in stranded wire, but your twinlead twist should be much larger pitch than the wire twist. Don't get wrapped too tight! 2 twists per inch is more than ample. Less can be fine. Tighter just runs-up resistance lost and cost for no good reason.

But thanks for the pointer. May be some other use for it.
