Rolls RP-93 looper

Not an amp I know, but this thing is a tone sucker in an effects loop. Can anybody explain why? It looks like the input is tied to all 4 relays at all times. Maybe this is loading down the signal?


 Also, the 4 jacks J11 thru J14. Can they be converted to non latching?

Input is tied to all 4 *effects* all the time.

If each effect is an "easy" 10K load, all four is a 2.5K load, which may not be easy.

More likely ONE of your effects' inputs is a heavy load, not noted when it is effecting-up the signal, but sucks when it is just idling.

Unplug your four effects one-by-one until you find the sucker.

You'd have to ask the programmer, the 8031 is a programmable micro controller, everything else is just signal conditioning, sept the 2816 is a memory chip(I think).  There are some pretty good freeware assembly programmers out there if you want to experiment

Input is tied to all 4 *effects* all the time.

I'll have to do some testing, but I'm pretty sure this thing by itself with no FX plugged in changes the sound (in front of the amp). Haven't confirmed this in the loop.

I'd do a return to factory settings then return to normal operating mode.  Run your guitar *IN*, then cable *OUT* to an amp and see what you hear
