make ***ALL*** the changes in the attached pic. At that point, you will have a cathode biased Plexi 6V6 which should sound pretty darned good.
+1 agree here also. Even though the 120k feedback resistor will work fine I use the standard 100k most of the time with good results.

Joe,

You had called me on the two resistors in the NFB Blue Shrink wrap.  I had two resistors coming close to 120K which was indicated on the layout, but when I looked on the schematic it was 82K.  I had changed it to 82K.

You guys have fish eyes, thanks for the help

I went through and made the recommended changes and the amp is wonderful.  It is pretty much what I had imagined and that works great for my colleague in his quest for a sound.

I am disappointed that I didn't quickly re-wire the power tubes to receive 6BM8's.  That might be a really nice tube for that circuit.

I should have a before and after video soon.

I had a chance to get some video of Sherman the Hoffman 6 v 6 Stout

This post is acting strange,  The message above that says No Longer Available has become a link to the video

{EDIT- YouTube link glitch edited away- PRR}

There is some glitch in how this forum software handles YouTube links. In fact the video is linked, but with some stray error message under it. Ignore the error. -OR- hand-edit the posting code:

Thanks Phil,

A half hour on the weekend at guitar Center is like a bad acid trip.

Nothing quite compares to that.

That is not me playing, that is one of my guitar mentors.  I keep him Amped up (with Tone) and he helps with advancing my guitar ability.  Sherman the 6 v 6 amp is actually in rotation on the local shows.

It is a really a great blues amp, then again so is the 18 Watt Plexi.

Just starting down the video road, plenty of room for improvement.
