Blues Jr conversion

This time I did not have a BJ chassis to gut to salvage transformers so this one is all new components.


I picked up some used empty BJ cabs and had chassis made to fit. First project is EL84 powered and next will be 6V6 powered.


Used 18w PT and OT - Heyboer and the circuit is using some MF precision resistors for clarity some Dumble flavor.

Question: Pictures show only one pre-amp tube and PI tube. Does this mean no gain stage after the tone stack?

Typical Fender and many others using one preamp tube gain stage, then tone stack, then gain stage, master volume into long tail phase inverter.

What do you do with the amps that you produce? 

Do you donate them and take a deduction?  Do you sell them?

My amps are getting to be a very decent quality and the quantity is growing.  Not sure how to thin the herd without losing money.  I would love to sell an amp to a young kid that want's tone.  I would sell an amp for $400 to someone as such, that is typically what it seems to cost me for a new project.  Not to many kids are going to shell out $400 for an amp.

Just curious what you do with your creations.

I built some for my adult kids and grand kids.


Have my amps for sale in two different local guitar shops in Fargo, ND


I have sold many to local gigging musicians and they have been repeat customers some owning 3 amps.


Sold to gigging musicians and studio musicians as far away as California, I need to get those guys to buy more.


Built custom amps for touring musicians and relatives of some famous Nashville entertainers.  (I don't like name dropping)


I'm just a simple old fart that enjoys building and have also gave amps away.  Been collecting parts so that I can do more charity give aways to deserving musicians.
I have given away more guitars then amps though, they are much cheaper.  Also, building effect pedals is way cheaper then my obsession with guitar amps.


Bottom line haven't made a dime selling amps.
