A new twist of a Hoffman PR Type Build
« on: February 13, 2017, 11:25:15 am »
Here is a Hoffman PR type amp I just finished up for a customer in CT.  He got his cabinets from Armadillo Ampworks.  I thought is turned out nice and shows a different twist on these amps.

Cheers,

Blondes have more fun! I like it.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

What's the back story on Tremendous faceplate. Super trem circuit?    Familiar with your work, sure it looks as sweet inside. I'm almost never if ever jealous, but sure can be envious. Heck I might be feeling proud for you. Pride by proxy? ...Yer stuff rocks!
keep on with those scales and that fish is gonna die, if it don't bite you first!

never fried a tranny ..till I built a dim bulb tester. UPDATE-haven't fried anything since learning how to properly build & use one...thanks Uncle Doug, & el34 World

Well dang, thank you...

The tremendous reverb is a name I came up with as I do some mods on Doug's PR layout to suit my needs.  Thinks like different OT, trem components, verb resistors, etc etc.  I sometimes add a mid control when asked.

I appreciate your comments very much.  This forum hosts a lot of great guys and great knowledge, glad you're here.

Cheers,
Mike

Looks mighty fine. What have you got the speaker cabinet loaded with?

Not sure what the customer loaded the cab with.  Whatever he used he is extremely happy with :)
