He was doing this stuff before Hendrix, Blackmore, and Malmsteen!  What a player... :worthy1:

The Alabama Jubilee is what is known as an Old Time song.  I love hearing different people do it.  Of course Jerry Reed is my favorite, but would be.

Roy could really pick, but this is the first time I ever have seen him play a Fender.

Roy told the story about how he used to play guitar in Jimmy Dean's backup band.  He was 10 minutes late one day and Jimmy fired him!  Roy said Jimmy was going places in a hurry and he (Roy) thought 10 minute late was fast enough!

Then he goes on to tell the story about how Jimmy called him to perform on the tonight show, which Jimmy had been hosting for a week. Jimmy finally got ahold of him on a Thursday night in Arizona.  Roy travelled all night and into the next day to get to new York.  They taped the show and he was back on the road in Arizona on Saturday.  He was late getting to the venue because of the traffic jam of all these people wanting to see him after his appearance on the Tonight show and that single appearance made him a star.  He said he owed Jimmy his whole career.
