My first eyelet board from scratch!
« on: August 22, 2017, 09:04:09 pm »
I'm trying to build a Tweedle Dee Deluxe from a scavenged Philco radio taht had two 6v6 and a bunch of loctals, but was basically roasted, filthy and the wood falling apart, (I got the thing for 40$ so if the tubes are good, the transformers work, etc, I'm in really good shape)

but I've got the first board done here.  Pretty cool stuff!

I mainly use eyelets in the preamp area.  Sometimes I will ass turrets where I know a resistor will be hot so I can get it up in the air.

Check out the Eyelet Outlet.  They sell bags of copper eyelets.  I got some 1/16, yes small, but I used them to make 10 small Power Scaling boards.  You do have to countersink, but it makes a very cello looking little board.

OOPs, I forgot to say I think you will really like working with them.

Thanks Ed, I'll keep that in mind, I bought about 500 of them when I started just so I could do a few and see, I'll have to look at the copper ones next time, I'll be swaging them is easier too.
