Shorter el34

Hi, I was wondering if there are some EL34 tubes that are a bit shorter than others.  I need it in a tighter place?

may be there are some brand that are a bit less tall (max 98mm) but isn't easy to know which brand they can be

if you have problems about, a solution may be to mount the sockets inside the chassis (instead than on the top)

using a pair of small standoff columns like those that Doug sell

Put 2-inch holes in cabinet above tubes. Get 2" vent grills from the siding and soffit aisle at the home store.

I do not know why the EL34 is so tall. If there is a shortie, I can't recall seeing it.

Note that "most" EL34 amps will work fine with 6L6, which is often shorter. Not the same overdrive sound, so may not be your thing.

There are some short base EL34s but the overall height of the glass is still the same.
