looking at my little 5F1 with a 12" Weber Alnico speaker and longing to hear a 5E3. The preamp section looks like half of a 5E3 and .022 coupling caps. So can I change my 5F1 to 5E3 caps and get a bigger sound or what kind of change might result or will a disaster ensue?

Using a larger value cap will increase the low end. Just try it. You may like it. No harm.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Deeper bass can lead to flubby or unpleasant sounding overdrive. Relatively "heavy-sounding" high-gain amps cut tons of bass before clipping occurs to avoid this.

With that said, no reason not to try!
