Hoffman Stout Reverb--Help me quiet down the reverb circuit
« on: February 02, 2018, 07:15:11 pm »
Hey Guys,

Just finished a Stout Reverb and looking for some help on quieting the amp down.  I've got a significant amount of hum with the amp at idle with no signal.  Gets louder as you increase the volume.  If I short the Reverb circuit it eliminates most of it.  Reverb tank orientation has some effect on it, but I wasn't able to eliminate the hum by orienting differently.  Any suggestions?

I'm mainly a Princeton Reverb guy.  I've been told that this hum is normal for a Marshall circuit but I won't accept it.....haha
