Are they over?
NO, that's why I'm here :icon_biggrin:
They are somewhat over.  Takes a smart man to not bet into a lock.  Even if it is just doughnut holes.

Thank you Ed, PRR - and anyone else that responded! Where can I send the doughnuts? ;)
I learned a lot - and I thank you for your time, your swift responses, and attentiveness!

You are welcome.  Stick around, most of the folks here are Fender guys and well, I sort of am too.  There is a huge place in my heart for Marshall amps and a constant ringing in my ears.

Love the super lead, but on this one with the cascade gets harsh.  There is a tube I will suggest you try.  ONLY JJ tube because they are the only ones I know to make this.  ECC 823 which pin 1,2 and 3 which has the gain factor of 100 like a 12AX7, but pin 6, 7 and 8 are like a 12Au7 which has a gain factor of 20.

Just replace V1 with it, that is all.  It will not change input 1, it will simply lower the gain of your high input.

This would give you less gain when plugged into the hot channel 2, but will still gain up some.  I tried this on the one I fixed and it pushes enough to get a good overdrive, but it loses that metallic sound.  You may not like it, but they are cheap enough.  It is sort in-between.

James,

pssst! we just don't socialize with those guys....  Ed acts like he's their friend so he doesn't get banned....

+1 on trying that tube.  It took me a couple of days of trial and error trying different tube combinations in the old 5150 buzzmasters before I came upon a similar solution that completely changed the character of the amp and really opened it up.  I would imagine you can gain the same advantages with your amp as well.

My religion? I'm a Cathode Follower!
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Jimbob, Telegraph, telephone or tell a woman.  All the same thing.  Now I told you I am a Marshall guy hiding on a mainly Fender forum and you just could not keep a lid on it.

Instead of Jimbob, now you are Jethrene.  And where were you when we were troubleshooting?  Were you having Major Pains for wrastling with a Pig?  Yes WrAstling here in the south, Just ask Sluckey.

Yes, EVERYONE I love Marshall amps.  Always have and always will until I can no longer hear them.  I know Jim Marshall had to know we would lose our hearing, so he just made it louder.

Truthfully, my ears are great.  I have a loss, complete loss, at 15400 to just starting to hear again a 15600 hz.  Everywhere else, it is strong.  It is not that I cannot hear, it is that I will not listen. :icon_biggrin:
