Yeah I'm using new video editing software that's free, but it makes the audio editing more of a royal PITA.  I like it otherwise.

Davinci resolve.

weird different stuff (damn Aussies wrote it lol).

I'm getting used to it, I probably should have spent more time on the edit.

Oddly when I played that channel a bit later on the SG it had a lot more stank on it lol.

Not sure why.

I would be inclined to say that is a result of the difference in the output of the 2 guitars.

Humbuckers are predictably more powerful than single coils. (measurable in AC mV)

Bigger input signal = more stank

I guess yes, but I didn't think it would be that significant, on the strat it sounded only a bit driven at max channel volume, but the humbuckers pushed it at like 2/3 or so if I recall and had great gain by 100%, but, even then it seemed 'tame' compared to the plexi, but I thought the plexi was supposed to have a bit less oopmf than the 2204.

Either mode should be capable of peeling paint and making your ears bleed, especially since you have a quad output. If that's not the case then you have a circuit problem or have it strangled with a high negative bias voltage on the grids.

What I heard on the recording probably happened while you were playing with the mixing afterwards. That would explain the sudden short bursts of volume increase.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

That's good to hear.  The 2204 channel's volume seems on par with the plexi, the plexi just seems more meaty, maybe more low end, maybe that makes sense with the higher cathode bypass cap?  It felt, on the strat, that the plexi gets really crunchy pretty quickly, say 50% volume but the 2204 was not super driven until 75%.  On the humbuckers it was more 'even' if you will.

Strat is not normal if I recognize it.  Actually it would be a Strat Plus I believe.  Earlier one with a Wilkerson Nut, before the LSR roller.  PUPS are a lot different in response if they are stock.  Lace Sensors are closer to humbuckers than single coils, especially in this test.

If you built it correctly, 4 bottles and all, you should be able to plug into the plexi and dime every knob.  Run it through 8, Greenbacks and use the SG.  Slam an open chord and it make a sound like Cccrrraaannnngggeee!
Roll back a bit and play Blue Sky.

2204 is cool and I do have one, but building an amp with 4 big bottles this day and time, my hats off to ya!

It's a strat ultra I think or strat plus, 90's model, I bought it used and have had it since probably '97 or so.  Yes it has 3 lace sensor gold pickups, and a special nut with ball bearings to supposedly help with the whammy bar so it stays in tune better.  I demoed it with the PPIMV down to maybe 1/3 or 1/4 or so, just so I wouldn't go deaf.  and the tone is pretty damn nice down that low on that thing.   (but yes some day I really need to crank it to 11 on the MV and plexi channel to make myself happy and deaf :D

A Super Lead is a wonderful amp.  I have one I managed to hang onto through the years.  It is original mostly.  Filter caps and some resistors are not, but I did manage to get the correct mustards.  Back in the late 70's I played it with a 8, 10's Marshall Cab in clubs.  The clubs were larger then, but looking back I am sure I am responsible for some hearing loss.  Personally, I have always used ear protection and still have good ears.  I do have a loss around 15.4K hz, but it returns just in time to be able to hear just above.  Sounds this high "grate my nerves" as my grandmother would say.

It doesn't have a Master Volume, but I can still play it.  They actually have a little better clean to me than the 1987 2 tube.  Really not a lot of difference in volume truthfully.  I believe you will enjoy playing this build.  I put some KT66's in mine once doubling the impedance.  Very bad!

Have fun and keep the strat close.
