Carolina SuperSonic
« on: July 25, 2021, 05:02:52 am »
A friend had a Fender SuperSonic 22 amp that didn't work.  I gutted it only using the chassis and transformers, on/off and standby switch.

Soundclips for the amp are here: Carolina SuperSonic amp demos (el34world.com)

Thread on the amp build is here along with a few photos    SuperSonic 22 conversion (el34world.com)

I think the amp has a lovely overdrive tone and on this amp, the PPIMV is actually useful getting a good overdrive tone with the PPIMV dialed down as low as 3-4

Despite the lack of neatness in the build, the amp is amazingly quiet at idle even with the volume turned up considerably louder than I normally would play.

With respect, Tubenit
