filament and fuse wiring
« on: November 15, 2021, 09:23:54 am »
For lower noise, does it matter how the filament wires are connected to the pins between the 12ax7 and the 6v6 in a Champ circuit? like with multiple 12ax7 its recommended to wire same pins together

I remember reading that when wiring a fuse it is best to connect the end terminal to the line and the body terminal to the switch. Is this correct and why is it recommended this way?

That's correct. It's a safety issue to minimize the chances of you getting a shock when pulling a fuse. Same idea applies to a table lamp light bulb socket (or any other 120v bulb socket). The hot wire is connected to the center (end) terminal rather than the shell terminal of the socket to prevent shocks when changing a light bulb.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
