separated speaker gasket

I just traded for a Dr Z 2x12 open back cab with Celestion Blues.  Sounds great, no issues with the actual working part of the speakers.  I am in the process of cleaning up the cabinet and while removing the speakers, the cork gasket (I assume its cork) has separated (edit: I should point out that the gasket didn't separate in the process of me removing the speakers.  It clearly had already been in that state and there was no ripping/tearing when I removed them).  Think of a thick washer being cut on its edge into two thinner washers.  One half of the gasket almost appears glued/stuck to the baffle.  The other half is sitting exactly where it should be around the speaker cone. 

So I figure I have two approaches...just re-mount the speakers and act like nothing has happened.  Or find a way to remove the "half-gasket" from the baffle in one piece and then reattach to the speaker.  Heat gun maybe? 

If anyone has a solution I sure would appreciate hearing about it.

sounds like it's a mount from behind cabinet so i would just match it up to where it came off and screw it back on

i only have experience with pressed paper gaskets (what sorta fancy pants speakers ya got in there using cork?) in which case wood glue and clamping generally works

After further inspection, its a pressed paper gasket.  When i get around to it, I'll try the heat gun approach and see if I can get the half-gasket off the speaker baffle without damaging it, then glue the gaskets back together as you suggested.  I went ahead and re-mounted to speakers and its good for now.  thanks!
