preamp cathodes to ground location
« on: July 12, 2022, 07:35:43 pm »
let's say hypothetically you wanted to save space on the board (or your board was too small). could you run the resistors/caps to ground right next to V1/V2 on a terminal strip? let's say this individual still ran a ground lead to the proper location from the terminal strip. any drawbacks?

why wouldn't this work?
just make sure they go to the preamp ground node and not just some spot on chassis for best noise performance

Here is a very useful grounding diagram that tubeswell posted in one of my threads.

I added the blue text showing how a tag strip could be used as a star-ground point, as long as the tag strip does not ground the wires to the chassis.

Replete with a few more hand-waving arrows

A bus stops at a bus station. A train stops at a train station. On my desk, I have a work station.
