preamp layout with triodes
« on: July 19, 2022, 07:54:05 pm »
if i were creating a dual channel preamp with identical channels is it better to run cascading gain stages to the same tubes or treat the triodes of each tube independently? Ex.  can i run  ch1 first gain stage through v1a and ch2 first gain stage through v1b ,  ch1 second gain stage to v2a and ch2 second gain stage through v2b and so on?  If i do it this way the board layout would be better for proximity of components?

i have settled on this compromise. Basically it's a dual channel preamp with 2 X88R lead channels. I will voice them a bit differently.

I design my builds to minimize off-the-board wiring.   Doug Hoffman's boards are inspirational for that.

But, that philosophy can be difficult difficult to implement -- as I'm learning -- while trying to build Dumble inspired designs -- eg, switching tone stacks, various OD channels, etc.

What schematic drawing program are you using?  Looks nice.
