Sluckey's Trem-O-Nator in a Deluxe NR
« on: August 17, 2022, 01:33:10 pm »
Hello all,
I've just finished a DR non-reverb and replaced the roach with Sluckey's Trem-O-Nator and I must say, Sluckey, that is an amazing trem (and I've built your Revibe!).

I followed the instructions (pro_trem_mod.pdf) from this https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=24603.msg265142#msg265142.
I used Doug's Fender diy file for the board and it fired up first time!

So I got thinking about that extra triode I have now and thought I could add the reverb load and add the recovery stage like RobRob did in his Princeton
Reverb with Reverb and Trem removed.  The 3rd gain stage.

From RobRob's site  'I left in all the reverb and tremolo components that filter or place a load on the signal to provide the exact same tone'  the only difference was the value of the grid leak on the DR NR.

So I added a few eyelets to the stock Fender board.   There was a nice empty area in the center and I used the second triode for the gain stage.  (Pic attached, some of these runs I did under the board).   All the other wiring to the Vactrol etc were done identically to the Pro_Trem_mod mentioned above.

I built it as shown and only played the amp a few times in the last few days, but I'm really digging that trem channel.

I'm standing on the shoulders of giants for this one and would like to specifically thank Sluckey and RobRob for their contributions and really everyone on the board, I've learned a ton from all of you.

    Questions/suggestions welcome.

Glad you like the TON.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
