What size or sizes of wire would be used in making power and output transformers?

Many thikness are used and, also, to solve technical problems, paralleled double or triple wires can be used instead of a single ticker wire (that is an optimisation of the spaces between wire and wire on the winding) to be able to fit the winding in the available space that depends on core size, about core there are standards indicated, as an example, with E32 core, and this, yes, semplify life

Good question.
I remember seeing an 18(22)Watt PT that had the tiniest little hair sized wire coming up to the terminals (Chinese made amp).
