5F1 build
« on: August 30, 2022, 11:18:17 am »
Hey all just put together a new 5F1 build that I thought came out pretty nice, wanted to see what you all thought, I usually get some great feedback and new ideas from everyone here

It's mostly a straight 5f1 clone but with a few minor updates
- 10uf bypass cap on the first preamp stage
- 470ohm screen resistors
- 1.5k 6v6 grid resistor

Mercury Magnetics transformers
Jupiter Aluminum Comet caps
Mojotone chassis and cabinet

Currently running a 12ay7 in the preamp, for some reason I've always preferred 12ay7's in Tweed builds. Just never gotten along with 12ax7s in there.

Look forward to see what you all think, let me know if you have any questions

-Jonathan

Thanks!!

This amp sounds great,
but I kind of wish I went with an alnico speaker.  The ceramic Jupiter speaker sounds great but I feel like an alnico one would have be best for everything below 8 on the volume
