1970 Twin Reverb

I don't know if my ears don't hear 105 decibels the same way they use to or, this Twin Reverb should be louder.  It does have a master volume added and I'm wondering if that could be bogging down the volume but, I really just don't know if it's my ears.

It gets "loud", around 105db on average with a simple cell phone app.  I just have this expectation it should be blowing me out of the room.  It's not the 100 watt or 135 watt version, it should be around 80 watts.

I cranked it wide open comparing it to the volume of a Hot Rod Deluxe cranked.  Similar volume, much different sound because the Twin stays clean as we'd expect.  Obviously they are also very different amps.

Getting ready to consign this at a local shop and wondering if I should toil on it more or call it a day.

Tough thing to answer in a forum I suppose.  I also think I lack experience with Twin Reverbs and am much more familiar playing a Super Reverb.

Any guesses or insights are welcome.

the one's I've worked on are the same loud from 4 to 10 to my ears, in other words, i'm to deaf from the cranked amp to know the difference

 
my test, hook a scope to the speaker, measure VAC_rms on the scope then do the math, if it's close to advertised, it's good to go

Holy buckets, you described it perfectly.  That’s part of my issue…after 4 it seems like it doesn’t get much louder.

I’ll give the scope a try.
