1M value for Treble pot.

I have a Traynor YBA3 and was wondering if anyone knows why a 1M value pot is used for the treble when most other amp builders use 250K? Does it have something to do with the James tonestack being fed back in? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the tonestack is plate driven? Just curious, thanks.

I've never seen a 250K treble pot in a James stack. All the old Ampegs use 1M. For example...

Thanks, seems to be the value needed for the circuit. Doing research now...
