Push-pull 6v6 recommendations

Hello all, I've been out of building for a while, I'm getting reeled in again.


I don't have any homemade amps here, only a store bought combo with 4 cable method and a ton of stompboxes.


I'd like to build a nice sounding combo to just plug in and turn on when the bells and whistles aren't needed.



I'm wanting to build a 6v6 push pull, tube rectifier, reverb, single 12" combo.


No tremolo.


No buttons, switches, relays, etc.


I'm thinking Princeton reverb, deluxe reverb minus trem, deluxe tweed + reverb, something like that.


Feel free to leave suggestions. I looked for used Princeton reverbs and used deluxe reverbs, $1000 used for pcb builds, I might as well build from parts.


I haven't built anything since before classictone transformers shut down. I always bought their transformers for my builds, so I guess I have to go elsewhere for those.

Just to throw into the mix for consideration.  DaGeezer's HoSo56 with 5879 pentode.      I have found this to be a very touch sensitive amp.


With this design, you could run 6V6's or 5881's.

BF sort of thing with a 1-tube reverb and a dumble-ish tone stack. YMMV

This is a 6V6 version of an amp I have currently that uses 6BM8 tubes.   This works well with delay, reverb, etc.... in the "psuedo" active FX loop.

This is another amp I am currently playing and as of late, I am tending to favor this one.  I've got a Warehouse ET-65 in the cabinet.

Some similarities to what Tubeswell recommended.  You can simply use mini-toggle switches and you don't need relays.

Again, the psuedo active FX works with every delay and reverb pedal I have.

The SCH file schematic shows the PT & B+ rail on another page.

OR a reverb version of the D-763 instead of the active FX.

If you don't want a mini-toggle for the midboost, just use a 500p treble cap.  If you don't want the PAB (preamp boost), simply remove it.

Just trying to throw some more ideas out there beside the tradition Fender designs.

The Deluxe Reverb circuit is hard to improve on. I prefer the DR tone to the PR tone. One channel and no trem would fit your criteria. Use Hammond's DR transformer set for 22 watts or use their PR set for 12 watts. I do like to add a 50k midrange tone control to allow boosting the mids when clean is not the goal. Hmmm. Maybe I need another amp...

The only thing tweed about it is the cab. The amp is a single channel Deluxe Reverb with reverb and no tremolo.

I'm planning to build pretty much the same thing - an AB763, single channel with reverb, no tremolo. I've been working on a DIYLC file based on Rob Robinette's Blackvibe (stripped down AB763) designs. He has a 6L6 Blackvibe with Reverb, and a 6V6 Blackvibe, but no 6V6 Blackvibe with Reverb, so I'm tweaking the layout accordingly. Maybe it will be ready to post soon.
