20 gauge cloth wire
« on: August 08, 2023, 09:29:06 pm »
Been trying to find 20 gauge cloth covered wire. All I can find is pvc covered in cloth. I like the look of it and nice that it doesn’t scorch if I bump into it with the iron. But the pvc makes really stiff and bulky. Any suggestions on supplier?

Use Hoffman's #22. Gauge is not as important as look, taste, and smell. In a chassis, #22 Copper can stand 4 Amps. If you run a quartet of EL34, wire those heaters with bigger wire. And your 120V should be in modern plastic. All else can be #22 cloth.

EDIT: duh! For that flock of EL34/KT88/etc, go further down the page, cloth #18. 10 Amps won't burn it.
