Hoffman_AB763_1 channel Completed
« on: September 16, 2023, 03:38:14 pm »
And here's some picture of how the Hoffman_AB763_1 channel I started a couple of months back turned out.

In the 70s I had a Blackface Bandmaster, Blackface Twin Reverb, and a Silverface Reverb, and later a TRRI.  What always bugged me was the switches in the back.  Yeah, I know why there were there, no room on the front because the logo ate up space among other items.

Besides, I'm a head and cabinet guy.

Sounds great.  The reverb is mounted inside on the top, that's why it's a little tall.

In the last pic you can make out the jack patch panel I made to allow for a quick change for the head I want to drive the 4x12 bottom.  Everything aside from the Quilter I built.  On the top of the 4x12 is the dual JTM45/2203 I finished about 4 months ago.

Nice work. I hope those tubes can breathe.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

I built a single channel hoffman DR head  a number of years ago, and mounted the reverb tank in the top of the head cab and it sounds great. Good to see someone else doing it and yours looks very nice and well done,   I had an open back for quite a while on mine then opted for an expanded aluminum strip across the back to keep little fingers from getting burned.
