Thermistor question
« on: February 23, 2024, 02:10:56 pm »
Hi all,

I'm building a Twin Reverb AB763 circuit (4x6L6GC, SS rectification). I am not going to put in a standby switch. Instead, I want to use a thermistor to slow current inrush. I saw in the Twin Reverb Reissue schematic that a C60-11, a five-amp thermistor, to slow inrush.
I do not have any of these, however I do have a bunch of NTC thermistors. 3D-25, 5D-15, 5D-11 etc.
I do not know the difference between these NTC thermistors and the type used by Fender.
But I'm just wondering, can any of the values I listed above be safely used to slow inrush current in this amp?

Thanks!

They probably won’t slow the inrush current as much as the 60-11.
