AB763 DIYLC Schematic File?
« on: May 22, 2024, 09:46:20 pm »
Wondering if anyone has a DIYLC AB763 SCHEMATIC file I can use for editing?

I have looked around any number of places, but not finding one. Closest I've found is RobRob's Blackvibe but looking for trem & reverb as well.
Not interested in the layout files.

Thanks in advance.

You probably can take one of Rob's schematics and copy paste your own using his parts
Or you can email Rob and see if he has one that he did not post on his web site

I asked Rob about that
He said he has never done a AB763 schematic in DIYLC
I would use the Black vibe schematic and make your own
Post it here if you do that

Thanks for checking, I kind of thought that might be the case. I will give it a shot, though I don't have the DIYLC skills you guys have, so bear with me.

I will be happy to post when I get there.

Just a thought.   DIYLC is not that easy to learn.  Neither is Jschem, but I think it is easier to master than DIYLC.

Why not consider using jschem?

I will check it out.

Though I will say I am pretty partial to the graphics of the DIYLC schematics, which until this week, I did not realize were drawn with that program. I haven't fooled much with DIYLC as I had assumed it was layout-only.

I much prefer a schematic along with a handful of actual parts & some graph paper, so I wasn't looking to draw any layouts.

When I have needed to draw a schematic (not that often), I had used ExpressSCH. Perfectly usable but pretty utilitarian.

One reason is that you can have custom boards when you use DIYLC
And you can share or download from the DIY libraries
I would much rather use DIYLC

usable but pretty utilitarian.

Seems to me all the java based (DIYLC, JSchem, etc) programs are "utilitarian."  That's ok, and I use them a lot.

If you want the best, Visio is your go to.   Sluckey is a wizard with this (I am not!).   You can get a copy of Visio on eBay for about $40.  As best I can tell, it's resold corporate licenses -- that Microsoft honors (thus far). Works great.  Takes time to learn, but not much more than DIYLC or Jschem.

If you are into designing your own circuits and PCBs (not the focus of this board), you really owe it to yourself to invest the time with a modern program like Kicad or Eagle, or something that that can take your schematic and readily turn it into a PCB design.

Anyway, it's dealer's choice, and there are a lot of choices, all with their own peculiar pros and cons.

There's only one choice if you want me to make you a custom Turret or eyelet board

I have been chipping away at learning the schematic section of DIYLC.

Attached are separate AB763 Reverb Sections that can be grafted into Rob Rob's Blackvibe Drawing. 1 stock, 1 with dwell. Please check for errors.

I haven't yet tried the trem section. If I do, I will probably do that sectionally as well. The LFO first, then the stock AB763 opto trem, Trem-O-Nator, 6G16 bias, etc.
