 tube orientation of a bluesbreaker
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something I have never thought of but now that I have been commissioned to build one...

Are the tubes in a bluesbreaker combo amp mounted horizontally? I hae never really looked at one and all the pics that I have seen seem to indicate that it is just a normal JTM 45 chassis mounted on the backpanel vertically with the tubes now horizontal.

Anybody got one for me to gaze upon?

Thanks,

whittele

I dunno about the bluesbreaker, but I would mount tubes vertically, especially the output tubes to avoid the "screen sag problem".

I've remember reading that if the output tubes (KT66) are mounted horizontal, the orientation are important.

I've also positive of seeing a drawing of the correct way to mount these, but I can't seem to locate the drawing on my computer, so I'll believe it was in a book. Maybe the Gerald Weber books. If I only could locate those books.....

Any drawing or info will be appreciated.

Thanks.

 KT66 orientation

Go to the weber BB and the tube board and type in KT66 in the tube database search and the MO info will give you the correct horizontal mounting to avoid sag. That would explain the layout of the tube socket holes for the power tubes. Thanks fellas.
