  :'(

that's exactly what we need to make our amps sound quoting the seller:

Your high notes will be round and rich. Lows will be more powerful and smooth. Midrange will have a more "vocal" quality with singing lead tones and harmonics.

I just put a brand new pair of old stock "made in England" vintage 30's in the dryer with a sneaker and a pad of fabric softener.
Ruined my freaking speaker. Thanks a lot. Next time you are joking, how about letting someone know.......

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you should use the delicate setting for speakers rated under 75 watts each; and never put anything "made in England" in the dryer.

Unless the dryer is Made in England by Lucas Electrics, in which case it probably doesn't work.

I have a Maytag dryer from the late 70's.  Do you think I should rewire it point to point?  It has 240 volt AC filaments.  Do you think I should convert them to DC?  It kinda noisy when I put speakers in it.

>All joking aside, why would it not work?

I'm sure it will do something, but whether it delivers a "vintage" speaker from a spanking new one is another matter.  Chemically treating paper speaker cones and other destructive edits to achieve a different sound has been around a long time, so this isn't anything new.  You could probably do just as well with a watered down mixture of common unscented lotion or some other magic formula you invent yourself in about 5 minutes in the kitchen.

It struck me as funny, especially since "too good to be true" always is.  Except for what you find on the Internet, of course, which is always what it seems to be.  The Internet = where all the men are men... and so are the women.

Maybe in England you need to put it in the refridgerator?
