Champ (&5F2 Princeton) w/reverb variations
« on: December 15, 2006, 08:54:36 am »
Here's my current rev of a Tweed Princeton 5F2-A with Reverb.  The transformers and switches allow the use of 6V6, 6L6 or EL34 tubes.  I gigged with this amp using just a 6V6 and a 1x12 cab, before I added the reverb loop/extra gain stage. Wanted an amp that was loud enough for stage monitoring, but would overdrive when pushed for solos.
It's getting there.let me know of any dumb things I did.
thanks

Updated with changes to reverb, got rid of dwell control. updated OT wiring
plenty of volume with my band-party rock type stuff.  Obviously always mic'd, just used as a stage monitor.

Some of the files on this thread may open and some may not. IF one doesn't open then follow the advice below, please.

You can find most of these schematics in the "Broken Links" file.  Write down the name of what you are looking for and then click on to this Broken Links file list.   Use the list on the "Broken Links file" to hopefully find what you are looking for:

I've become quite fond of the 5879 tube which has a fat warm sound to my ears.

So I drew this up. Haven't built it. So look for errors and post any questions you might have on the Tweaks forum.

With respect, Tubenit

And I also included a couple of single ended EL84 type that are DRAFT prototypes only. Check for errors.

Physconoodler successfully created a Champ Reverb.

Here are two schematics that are a good starting place to build one.

CHECK for errors!

FreshStart contacted me and stated that his communication with Physconoodler informed him that a standard tweed tone control was probably used.

With respect, Tubenit
