LED orientation

Hi....smoked-mind question... :D

The LED has 2 legs...one bigger than the other...which one should I connect to ground??? I.m trying to install a relay based distortion...actually the *umble OD stage...

The shorter lead is the cathode, and that one goes to ground (or the lower voltage connection) in a DC circuit.
