making faceplates

i got some thin brass, i was wanting to build some faceplates, anyone ever done this before i could use the input  thanks mark

Sign and plaque makers can laser etch that for you and make the letters black. I've never done it.

I got a piece of bronze from the hardware store, drilled it, polished it, added some words with clear decal/laser printer stuff and laquered the entire thing.  It's holding up well.

thats nice loosechange, i got my wife searching the net.   id like to be able to put the numbered dials for each pot.  im researching it still i scored a bunch of ultra thin brass the scraps out of the metal supply i deal with ive been told you can use your pc printer and make decals you dip in water and kinda stick down on your face plate ill keep posting til i get it, its not a big deal but if you can do it yourself and not pay someone else then your getting somewhere.  mark
