Standel Pro Sound PA Cabs???
« on: February 24, 2010, 11:35:45 am »
I just picked these up in a yard sale for $20.00

They are heavy as H**l. What is the deal with the wall plug and the transistors on the rear of the cabs?

I pulled one of the front panels to check the speaker cones and they all look good

Should i just rewire the speakers and leave the cabs in my van hooked to my stereo?

Are these the original powered speaker boom box's?

I know nothing about these cabs. All i found so far is an Ebay add showing the speakers and PA Head / A few pic's

Update: Should i go back and grab the PA head for these cabs? I just didnt get it because it was solid state and didnt see what i could do with it

Looks like they are power speakers with power amp (hence the transistors).  The plugs are so you can daisy chain the power, or plug in a hair dryer.

I went back and got the power head. Wicked cool construction inside. Posting pic's in another thread in amps in a minute!

I just love looking at all those 12" speakers. I removed one and it measured 4 Ohms
