Wow, that was some haul.  Back in the "big" heyday of one of the bands I was in, we had 8 15" A7's with the horns disconnected and in road cases.  Then we ran I think 4 Crown DC300's for these and the monitors.  Those A7's were incredible speakers.  Super efficient.  I once plugged in my little Realistic 9v portable AM/FM into one of those cabs and it sounded awesome.  Man that was a long time ago.  And hauling all that crap around was NO fun....  The drummer (of all people) owned all that so who knows where it sits today.  But when you talk about faithful LOUD reproduction, I think we had it nailed with that altec stuff - and those Crowns were barely breaking a sweat.
