New T-bolty home brew
« on: January 14, 2013, 07:23:52 pm »
Knocked this one up in about a week from spare parts I had lying around. Made the cab, chassis, and main board by hand. Loosely based on a supro thunderbolt circuit ('65 version with 5U4G rectifier) with a 5k OT powered by 2 x cathode-biased 6L6 (6P3Se) driven by a paraphase inverter, but with a switchable parallel/single V1 (to use up that extra triode) and a James tone stack (which has excellent treble control and fantastic bass eq for geetar, and which you can enjoy because of the benefit of the low impedance V1 in parallel stage mode) instead of the 1-knob tilt control in the t-bolt. I used a 12" speaker because I couldn't fit a 15" speaker in the cab.

A bus stops at a bus station. A train stops at a train station. On my desk, I have a work station.

You da man! :worthy1: I really envy your skill with the chassis and cabinet and be able to knock something together just like that. You should give us all some pointers over at AX84 >> High Cost of Amp Building

Very Nice!

Have you played your Jazz Master through it yet?
