Profi ELF by Doobie Corp. Japan. Mesa-Boogie replica?
« on: September 11, 2014, 12:50:21 am »
Hi
Few days ago I repaired my amplifier. OD channel is not that good, but clean is one of the best, that I've ever heard. It's similar to Mesa-Boogie Mark 2, but there are differences. The main, that I noticed is that EQ is made using OP amps, not single transistors like in M-B. However I don't know much about this amplifier. It was made propably in late 70's or 80's in Japan, 50W power, 2 channels, graphical EQ. I don't have schematics, and I'm very curious how much it can be worth, because I want to sell it. Does anybody have informations about this amp?

I had no trouble viewing all of the pics?

I unlocked the topic since the links are gone so that others who looked can comment.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

I had no problem with the photos.  I believe this is an amp that was sold by one music store.  Here is a short discussion:
http://www.guitarscanada.com/showthread.php?17352-Newest-amp-introducing-The-Doobie-!

This one is a Solid State amp, but they put the Doobie nameplate to look like a Boogie.

If yours is in good working condition and you like it, you may consider keeping it if you like it.  The amp is not a collectors amp and since it doesn't have a popular brand name on  it like Fender, Marshall, Boogie..............etc., you may get around $400.  You never know tho.  List it on craigslist for $1200 OBO as a Rare Japanese Custom Build, which it is if only one music store sold it.   Someone will lowball you like people do.  Most of the time the lowball is half the asking price and you may get $600 this way.

Good Luck :icon_biggrin:

Thank you :) Maybe somebody will know a little bit more about this amplifier. For me it's sad news, that it's worth just 600$ :( I bought it for 1000zł (308$) with burnt PT. The new one was almost half of the amplifiers price, so I paid 430$ for everything :/ I was hoping, that I'll sell it for about 1000$.  I attach the photos. Btw, sorry for my english ;)
Best regards!
