Hammond Amp Guitar Amp Projects
« on: November 11, 2016, 01:15:26 pm »
Hi,

I have been using a basically stock AO-43 for the power amp portion of a guitar amp and it works great. I play keys as well and have a the following amps on hand:

AO-29 (field coil)
AO-15
AO-43

What does anyone have for guitar amp project schematics using these?

I realize the AO-15s are kind of odd balls, being biamped and all, but again, I have them laying around.

Thanks,

Steve

I've seen several AO-29 conversions. A common complaint is "my B+ is too high", especially the early field coil versions. I don't have any hands on experience with the 29 and have never had any interest in obtaining one.

I'm not familiar with the AO-15 and have never seen any projects using it.

AO-43 is very popular. I used the iron from one to build a Plexi 6V6. Others have converted them to Deluxe Reverbs. Do a forum search to find out more. I have two more sitting on a shelf.

I have successfully converted AO-39, AO-44, AO-43, and AO-63. You can see these projects on my website.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Thanks Sluckey!

Where can I find your website? There is probably a link I missed in the post.

I believe my other AO-43 will be next, then I am going to try something with the AO-29 and 6L6s.

I have an AO-44, what did you do with that? Do you have schematics?

I have searched the forums and archives and there are threads all over the place, I was hoping to create maybe more of a meeting place for the topic if possible.

Other ideas anyone?

Got a schematic for the AO-15?

Here's the one I did, I am in the very slow process of adding a 1 tube reverb.  If the holes hadn't already been drilled for the controls and jacks I may have done the faceplate differently, but it works.
