hearing - sound?

a future build is sloshing around, think deluxe reverb meets ET-2b, meets dave. (2 channels, 2 SE PA's, 2 speakers)
 how will the ears *perceive* the mixed sound of a clean channel, out to the speaker, and a separate verb/trem channel out to it's own speaker?  Will the brain do the *mixing*, or is in necessary to mix them in the amp?

You know the answer already, but are focused on the micro-view.

The sound from the two speakers will mix in the air. If you want essentially-equal levels for the same power output, you will need each to have speakers of similar efficiency/dB-SPL ratings.

Think of two guitarists on stage, each with their own amp... The sound mixes, no?

Nearby cliff reflects the sound, snap... snap...

Obviously you WILL hear both the direct dry sound and the echos.

(Also your brain knows the later sounds are probably not additional tigers, but echos of the one tiger.)

Or more extreme example. You are playing some fine guitar. Un-musical baby screams. Is is necessary to mix guitar and baby to hear both?

Oh, yeah, that example works too.

Tremolo may be a different matter. Pure variable-gain trem will interact with the dry signal in fairly complex ways, and different for every point in the room. Generally, if you want TREMOLO, then trem your whole signal, don't mix it with dry. However nobody will arrest you for trying it.

At home I play with two amps on either side of the smallish room. Run different reverbs and delays into each amp (with dry), gives a really nice spacious stereo sound.

Maybe run both speakers reverbed. Put two different reverb tanks and drive systems in, with slightly different dwells. Might surprise even though the speakers are right next to each other.

Got some transformers from a stereo that I was thinking of building two output sections fed by one preamp.
As close as the two output circuits can be built and speakers that may not be matched, could this set up suffer the same thing????

Just thought of something folks,,

If for some reason there is a phase inversion between the two systems the speakers will experience an acoustic short at bass frequencies which would sound very tinny and it's possible the voice coils could jump out of the magnet gap at high volume.

Easy enough to swap one set of speaker connections polarity if it sounds like there is no bass after testing at low volume.

So inject it at V1a, prior to any channel split?
I'm only worried about being arrested for cruelty when I plug in
