Gibson Falcon GA19RVT - FILTER CAPS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Am trying to find new filter caps to replace what look to be original capicators in a 62 Gibson Falcon. The originals read Syncro EPB25348 and have three wires (red 20MFD@450volts, blue 10MFD @ 450volts, black ground) running out one end and nothing running from the other. After looking high an low on the net, I am getting the feeling that these are no longer made.

Can anyone out there please tell me what would be the appropriate replacement for these and, if different, how would they install?

Thanks for the help

Drew

Doug sells axiel lead Sprague caps in 10uf/500V and 20uf/500V flavors.
You may have to think about how to fit them in, but they'll work fine for you .

Drewa, First, Welcome.
You are correct, that cap is no longer made. Even if you found one, it would be old stock and long dried out by now.

To replace those you have two choices, use standard axial electrolytics and place them inside the chassis or if you want something more original(but still new) check out 'Antique Electronic Supply' (www.tubesandmore.com). Go to their capacitor page, click on electrolytics and then click on multi-section. They carry the widest selection of multi-section caps, twist-lock, radial(similar to what you have) and can type caps. You can find something there to fit in/on the chassis.

Good luck

Mouser carries some cap clamps that would securely mount a can type inside you chassis.
