Reverb tank replacement for Deluxe Reverb AB763 rebuild
« on: October 17, 2020, 05:16:04 pm »
i had my 65' Deluxe Reverb RI rebuilt as AB763 a few years ago. basically completely gutted. replacing a few tubes recently i looked at the reverb pan. it is a Accutronics & Belton Model 64063 year 2011/04/13. it was in the leather bag open side down upon a piece of cardboard about the same dimensions as the pan. only the ends of the bag were screwed down into the cabinet floor. i.e., the pan was a bit loose in the bag.

1. would it be better to use 4 grommets and screw the pan itself to the floor of the cab? Does the cardboard piece stay also or is there better material?  i guess the pan stays in the bag too?

2. it is a 2/4 spring type pan. would a 3/6 spring pan upgrade be better? i'm wanting to try a 3 spring pan and check out the difference.

my understanding is i need to keep a new pan at the the same "INPUT IMPEDANCE & OUTPUT IMPEDANCE". is this correct?
anybody know what those values are for this reverb pan/amp? is it like the Fender 4AB3C1B which is 8 ohms, 2250 ohms respectively.

The mounting is fine just as it is.

If you want to try a 3 spring unit you will need the 9AB3C1B.

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
