6G15 Chassis Hole Layout
« on: October 24, 2025, 07:16:20 am »
Hello,

I'm working on a 6G15 clone project and am preparing the layout for chassis holes.  I've determined rough locations for holes on the bottom of the chassis ( tubes ), however I wanted to be more precise on the holes in the top of the chassis.    I'll end up with my own DIY face plate but may eventually replace it with an authentic fender face plate.  I want to ensure it will fit.

I've roughly calculated the following chassis hole locations for the top panel, but realize they may be off since I used second hand values and images of original panels instead of physical ones.  I've measured from the left side of the panel to each hole center.  Does it look ok?

From left side of chassis:
Mounting Hole: 0.5in
Power Switch: 2.3in
Fuse: 3.55in
Light: 4.8in
Dwell: 8.36in
Input: 9.63in
Mixer: 10.88in
Tone: 12.27in
Output: 13.54in
Mounting Hole: 15in

Thanks!

Most of those holes will be 3/8", not 1/2". In order to guarantee the face plate will fit, you should buy the faceplate first.

Here's a thread that discusses this question on Surfguitar101:

The spacing given is center-to-center, measured from the mounting hole on the left, so you would want to adjust accordingly.

This is what I was looking for, thank you!

Who should I order an official face plate from?  I could buy one.
