YARDSALE FIND G.E. Electronics service manual 1953-1958
« on: August 05, 2013, 12:56:49 pm »
Found at a book booth at a flea market.    $25.

The binder is in poor shape, but there are hundreds of schematics, separated by month, I guess as they were mailed out to the technicians.  There are maybe 5 pages missing from November 1953 to July 1958.

A little over half are television schematics but it also contains record players, radios, phono/radio combos, shelf audio amps, a few car radios (tube), reel to reels, and in the last couple months there are transistor radios.

Brands included: Arvin, Crosley, Sylvania, CBS, Westinghouse, Truetone, Admiral, GE, Halicrafters, RCA, Sparton, Dumont, Sentinel, Stewart-Warner, Stromberg-Carlson, Raytheon, Magnavox, Bendix, Packard-Bell, Philco, Zenith, Emerson, HOFFMAN, Travler, Delco, Motorola, Olympic, Philharmonic, Granco, GMC United MOtors, Carlson, Montgomery Ward, Capehart, Fada, Hotpoint, Bogen, Harman-Kardon, Radio corp of America, V-M, and I may have missed a few.

pics,
photobucket is being a bit*h right now, pics later.

Noah.

The schematics are VERY thorough.  for instance, they tell exactly how to tie the knot on the string for tuners, etc.

The pages are a little bit brittle. but not bad considering it's age.  I plan on having some of the "cooler" pages scanned, I guess at a copy place because the pages aren't 8-1/2 by 11 like my scanner!!  lol.

Looks nice! You never know what you might find in there for a build inspiration?
